Shailja Singla
Consultant
Shailja Singla is a Consultant with the Clean Air team at The Council. Her work centres around addressing pressing urban and environmental challenges in the areas of solid waste management, improving transportation infrastructure, and promoting tactical urbanism. Her role extends to engaging and assisting government bodies, urban local bodies (ULBs), and diverse stakeholders.
A passionate advocate for equitable urban development, Shailja holds a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar. With a passion for design and research, she actively contributes to building systems and institutional capacities and scaling data-driven solutions.
In her previous role as a Fellow at Abohar Urban Fellowship, Shailja engaged in comprehensive research, planning and implementation of design proposals for urban development projects. Through this, she actively explored the multifaceted challenges faced by small and medium-sized cities across Punjab.
Outside of work, Shailja finds her creative escape in painting and photographing the natural world. She loves to travel and volunteer in service.
