Shruthi Chikkuraj Pillai

Programme Communications Consultant

Shruthi has joined The Council as a Consultant with the Outreach team. She focuses on special multimedia projects like Sustaina India in the New Narratives vertical. She works at the intersection of research and storytelling to build compelling narratives that help mainstream climate and sustainability discourse.

Previously, in addition to briefly writing content for various audiences, Shruthi was a Gandhi Fellow with Piramal Foundation. She was involved with the public health system through the rollout of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), facilitating capacity-building sessions, mapping health governance structures, and more in Gaya, Bihar. She also led fellow cohorts, managed stakeholder relationships, created process maps, conducted public surveys and supported documentation efforts among other things. Earlier, she worked as an Associate Recruiter at Techaxis Inc., connecting talent with opportunities in the tech industry.

Shruthi holds a BBA in Finance and Accounting from CHRIST (Deemed to be) University, Bengaluru and a Master's degree in Sustainable Development Practice from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi.

Beyond her career, Shruthi is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and a psych-thriller enthusiast. She enjoys singing, sketching, and dissecting fictional characters. Her interests span geopolitics to meme culture. She resonates with the FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement—not so much for financial independence (in this economy!), but for the pursuit of self-sufficiency and slow living.
