Surabhi Singh

Research Analyst

An environmental engineer by training, Surabhi’s work at The Council involves projects related to urban water management, rural water access, and circular economy of water. She has a keen interest in hydrological modelling, citizen science, spatial hydrology, and environmental flow assessments for river basins.

Previously, she worked as a civil engineer with TATA Power, Mumbai, for three years in construction, procurement & corporate contracts departments. She was involved in construction and commissioning of a pipe coal conveyor for transport of coal from the Mundra port to the Ultra Mega Power Plant at CGPL (Coastal Gujarat Power Limited), Mundra.

Surabhi holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from TU Delft, Netherlands. Through her M.Sc. thesis, she tried to improve the global methodology used for preliminary environmental flow (e-flow) assessments for SDG reporting as part of the Water Accounting project at UNESCO-IHE, Delft. She also interned with Stahl, Netherlands, and Solidaridad as a part of the Clean Ganga Initiative, for assessing the water pollution load in Jajmau Leather Cluster in Kanpur. She also holds an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.
