Varnika Prakash
Consultant
Varnika has joined The Council as a Consultant with the Technology Futures team. Her work focuses on different battery manufacturing technologies, cell components manufacturing and connecting dots between the complementary industries in India to the battery manufacturing ones. Her work areas include encouraging indigenization of the battery supply chain components through strategic planning that works around understanding the current manufacturing wealth of the country.
Prior to joining The Council, Varnika led a research team as a Senior Research Associate at Log 9 Materials, Bengaluru. Her projects included working on sustainable Co free lithium ion batteries, development of cost-effective scrubbers for Al fuel cell and novel synthesis route for graphene oxide. She also worked as a Production Scientist at Graphene Research Labs, working for mass production of graphene oxide (GO) and dealt with various Government and private stakeholders for GO’s applications in paints and coatings.
Varnika holds a PhD. degree focussed on “Fabrication of graphene materials for electrochemical sensing of forensically relevant drugs” from Panjab University, Chandigarh. Outside of work, Varnika likes to indulge in fitness routines like Yoga, badminton and meditation. She loves listening to 90s Bollywood songs, and binge watching thrillers, suspense and drama. She has a creative side to her as well and sometimes likes to paint and cook different recipes. Her stress buster is being with family and friends and enjoying home-cooked Indian Cuisine and desi- chinese.
