Representation
WLOC India will act as a “convener of convenors,” bringing together stakeholders across geographies — with a pan-India focus — and across sectors such as government, industry, and civil society.

The India Chapter of Women Leading on Climate (WLOC) — a global coalition founded by Catherine McKenna (CEO, Climate and Nature Solutions; former Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Canada) together with María Mendiluce (CEO, We Mean Business Coalition) — is convened by CEEW. It works to elevate women's leadership in climate action across India and the Global South, by amplifying voices, showcasing solutions, and strengthening leadership pathways.

India is emerging as a leading voice for the Global South on climate, the movement connects women leaders across sectors and countries to amplify our collective voice and advance more ambitious climate action. Across the country, women are already driving climate action — in research, policy, government, industry, and grassroots communities — but this work is often fragmented and event-based. WLOC India is built to be that anchor.
