Consultant

Anushka is a Consultant with the Climate Resilience team at The Council. Her work focuses on building the climate resilience of cities and its systems by data-driven quantitative and spatial analysis and using creative mediums to sensitise people and policymakers.

Anushka previously worked as a consultant with the Industrial Sustainability team at the Council. Her prime research was on challenges to scaling up renewable energy and green hydrogen production in India. She has also built countrywide datasets of land prices and RTO boundaries using data mining, spatial mapping and analysis.

Prior to joining The Council, Anushka interned at the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) in developing a GIS-based Integrated master plan for Rajgir and the World Heritage Site Nalanda Mahavihara. She also interned under the metropolitan and UT division of the Town and Country Planning Organization, New Delhi on the project titled ‘’Sustainable water solutions- Local Area Plan,’’ a case study of Varanasi. Anushka holds an undergraduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. Her Bachelor’s thesis focused on studying the characteristics of Urban expansion in Delhi and the NCR region followed by proposals to mitigate the adverse effects of Urban growth. Department of Physical Planning, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi has published her research on Land Pooling policy in Delhi, titled ‘Land pooling Policy- A paradigm shift?’.

Anushka holds a senior diploma in Bharatnatyam dance and performs other dance forms like contemporary, belly dance, jazz and commercial heels. She volunteers to teach dance to economically disadvantaged children in her free time. Her hobby is acquiring skills and she has talent for art, poetry, and fashion. You will find her in the office mostly in avant-garde makeup looks. In her free time, she explores texts around Hindu mythology and believes in practising happiness.
