Apoorve leads The Council’s Sustainable Food Systems program. He has invested a decade and a half working on different sustainability challenges in the arena of food systems and bioeconomy (food, feed, fiber, and fuel). He has developed advanced biofuel and biomaterial technologies for a Fortune 500, led strategy consulting projects to advise agro-food organisations in Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia, and developed policy action roadmaps at the state and national levels in India.
At The Council, his current focus is on evidence and strategy development for scaling Sustainable Agricultural Practices and Systems (SASPs), catalysing concerted multi-stakeholder action for healthy soils, building a case for accelerated expansion of bio-economy, formulating AFOLU sector pathways for India @2047 and 2070, and democratizing change.
He holds a bachelor's and master's in technology from IIT Delhi in biochemical engineering and biotechnology and an MBA with distinction from INSEAD France.
