Research Analyst

Aravind Srinivasachari is a Research Analyst in the Low-carbon Economy team at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). His work lies at the intersection of data, modelling, and systems thinking, supporting evidence-based policymaking for low-carbon development pathways.

Before joining The Council, Aravind worked as a Carbon-Credits Consultant at Renewcred, where he developed methodologies to estimate emissions for carbon credit issuance across a variety of project types. Prior to that, he served as a Project Engineer at NorthVolt in Sweden, contributing to the design and automation of material flow systems in a lithium-ion battery manufacturing gigafactory. His role involved managing the full project lifecycle—from feasibility studies, system design, FATs, commissioning, stakeholder management and integration.

Aravind holds a dual MSc in Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering from Aalto University (Finland) and KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), with a specialisation in Energy Systems. During his time in the program, he worked on modelling Finland’s national electricity system to explore scenarios for achieving net-zero emissions and also won a hackathon aimed at addressing SDG 11. He was also part of a team that secured second place in a national-level competition organised by SIL Finland, where they proposed solutions for reducing emissions in existing built environments in line with EU’s climate goals.

Outside of work, Aravind is a long-time sportsperson, having represented Qatar at the national level in table tennis. He also enjoys playing volleyball and served as President of a 50-member dance troupe at NIT Trichy, performing across several Western dance styles.
