Designation offered : Research Intern – Sustainable Mobility

Reporting to : Senior Programme Lead

Location : New Delhi

Duration : 6 months, starting earliest

Job Summary

CEEW seeks to hire Intern (1-2 positions) who will assist the sustainable mobility team in carrying out research in freight and energy, including but not limited to carrying out techno-economic feasibility analysis, vehicle stock modelling and impact of alternative energy on the economy and environment. The work may require occasional field visits and coordination with various stakeholders. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the Intern should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Carry out economic analyses of various alternative fuels in the transport domain.
  • Develop data base for freight movement across different modes in Indian context.
  • Involve in extensive data collection, and interact with professionals from the sector.
  • Carry out relevant literature review and summarize findings as reports.
  • Assist administrative team for organization of relevant events (whenever needed).

CEEW operates in a dynamic environment, and the candidate will be required to show flexibility in undertaking a variety of tasks.

Shortlisting Criteria

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with specialisation in economics / Environmental/ Energy/ Urban Planning/ Transport or policy programmes.
  • Candidates with prior research experience of conducting desk research is desirable.
  • A fair interest in the transport and energy sector in India.

Key skills

  • Must have strong research skills – capability to carry out literature review is a key requisite, familiarity with research methods is a bonus.
  • Experience carrying out data analysis on programmes such as Python, R, STATA are preferred
  • Willingness to conduct frequent field visits/meetings with stakeholder
  • Willingness to work on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in data collection preferred
  • Experience in dealing with stakeholders (industry, academic, government etc.) preferred
