Research Analyst

Johns Tiyndel has joined The Council as a Research Analyst with the Low-Carbon Economy team. His work supports research on the Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector, combining quantitative analysis with policy-oriented research to support climate and sustainability transitions.

Prior to joining The Council, Johns worked as an Associate – Agronomy at Aibono Smart Farming Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, where he contributed to data-driven farm management solutions, production planning, and demand–supply analytics. He also worked as a Senior Research Fellow under the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) at the Central Agricultural University, Manipur, where he supported research design, data analysis, documentation, and stakeholder-oriented project outputs.

Johns holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics. He has recently submitted his PhD thesis in Agricultural Economics at CCS Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar. During his PhD, he examined agricultural trade dynamics and commodity derivatives markets in India. His broader research interests include sustainable agriculture, land-use systems, rural livelihoods, and technology adoption in agriculture.

Outside of work, Johns enjoys reading across politics, entertainment, public policy, economics, and current affairs. He is passionate about travelling, driving, and exploring new places and cultures. He also enjoys playing and following cricket.
