Meet Kumar
Research Consultant
Meet Kumar is a Research Consultant with the Climate Resilience team at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). His work focuses on the intersection of urban and rural systems with climate adaptation, using research, geospatial analysis, and community-led planning to support inclusive and sustainable development.
Before joining The Council, Meet was engaged with UN-Habitat, Nairobi, where he worked on critical themes such as the climate-crisis nexus and climate migration. His work focused on integrating spatial planning and nature-based solutions with humanitarian principles that respond to climate-induced displacement in fragile settings such as islands and coastal regions.
Meet holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. His undergraduate thesis developed a city-level framework for assessing microclimatic conditions in Indian cities, proposing targeted built-environment strategies to mitigate heat stress. During his academic journey, he also held national-level leadership positions as the Vice President and National Treasurer of NOSPlan, a pan-India student body for planning students.
Outside of work, Meet enjoys travelling and exploring new places, especially in the mountains. He has a deep love for street food as well as cooking. He has a keen eye for photography and a longstanding interest in theatre, both of which reflect his curiosity for people and places. Known among friends for his carefully curated playlists, he’s often the go-to Bollywood DJ for long drives and small gatherings. A nostalgic at heart, he draws inspiration from everyday stories and places that leave a lasting impression.
