Neha Kumari

State Coordinator

She is currently working as the State Coordinator for Madhya Pradesh at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), where she leads initiatives focused on advancing the energy transition agenda in the state. She manages stakeholder engagement with key government departments, provides technical inputs for policy and programme development, coordinates events, and facilitates collaborations to strengthen climate action. Previously at CEEW, she worked with the Low Carbon Economy and Clean Air teams, managing projects such as "Carbon Resilient and Low Carbon Development Pathways" and the Strengthening CEMS implementation project in Bihar.

With over a decade of experience spanning both the government and private sectors, she specializes in climate change mitigation, energy efficiency, policy development, project management, and stakeholder engagement. Before joining CEEW, she worked as a Project Engineer at the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) in New Delhi, where she led several government initiatives to promote energy efficiency. Her work included managing the Standards and Labelling programme, developing energy performance standards, and drafting energy conservation guidelines for industries. Additionally, she served as a Project Engineer at Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), where she contributed to a national study on high-impact energy efficiency opportunities, in collaboration with IIM Ahmedabad and the Copenhagen Centre.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Punjab Technical University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Law and Policy from NLU Delhi. Early in her career, she gained experience as a Trainee Engineer, conducting energy audits for commercial buildings.

Beyond her professional work, she enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, sketching and reading. Through her journey at CEEW, she remains committed to strengthening policy research and supporting climate mitigation efforts across sectors to help achieve India’s sustainable development goals.
