CEEW ranked South Asia’s top think tank for seventh year running

New Delhi (31 January 2020): For the seventh consecutive year, the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) has been ranked first in South Asia among ‘Top Think Tanks with Annual Operating Budget under $5 Million’ by the University of Pennsylvania’s ‘2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index’ released yesterday. CEEW has also been ranked as South Asia’s ‘Top Energy and Resource Policy’ think tank for two years in a row. In total, CEEW featured across nine categories of the latest Global Go To Think Tank Index.

As per the 2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, CEEW has also been ranked third in South Asia for ‘Best Institutional Collaboration Involving Two or More Think Tanks’ and ranked fourth in the prestigious list of ‘Best Managed Think Tanks’ in South Asia. Other categories where CEEW has featured in the latest report include ‘Top Science and Technology Think Tanks’, ‘Think Tanks to Watch’, ‘Top Environment Policy Think Tank’, ‘Best Independent Think Tanks’, and ‘Top Think Tanks in China, India, Japan and the Republic of Korea’.

The 2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index is the most comprehensive global ranking of the world’s leading think tanks, considering 8,248 think tanks worldwide including 509 think tanks in India. It is compiled with assistance from close to 1,800 peer institutions and experts from the print and electronic media, academia, public and private donor institutions and governments around the world.
