At The Council, Priyanka works on air pollution, waste management and circular economy. She is dedicated to conducting scientific investigations, using real-world data. Her objective is to provide policymakers with evidence-based insights, facilitating informed and scientifically grounded policy decisions.
Before joining CEEW, Priyanka worked in the Central Pollution Control Board as a Technical Consultant under the National Clean Air Programme and was responsible for coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the National Clean Air Programme in the 17 Non- Attainment Cities (NACs) of Uttar Pradesh. She has also worked with a social enterprise called Saahas Zero Waste and has undertaken various waste management related assignments. The key projects included drafting urban and rural policies for solid waste, plastic waste and C&D waste management for the state of Karnataka. Besides this, she was involved in conducting Environment Impact Assessment for various industries especially mines, metallurgical industries, cement plants etc.
Priyanka holds a postgraduate degree in Environment Management from the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun and a graduate degree in Life Sciences from Ramjas College, University of Delhi. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Management from S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai.
