Spandan works as a Research Analyst with the Technology Futures team at The Council. His work focuses on researching and tracking key developments in solar energy technology and manufacturing. Additionally, his work includes studying the historical policy landscape related to scaling up of solar energy manufacturing and identifying policy insights for the future.

Spandan holds a Master’s degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata. He is a physics enthusiast and an ex-wannabe physicist whose work was primarily focused in topological quantum systems and condensed matter physics. After finishing his degree, he interned for six months at ICF consulting in the Power and Renewables team where he gained an appreciation and deep interest in working for a sustainable future and addressing climate change through renewable energy technology.

Outside of work, Spandan loves reading books, watching movies, listening to a lot of music and opining about everything under the sun. As an avid cinema enthusiast, he takes his Letterboxd account very seriously and will share his top four obscure movies with anybody who gives him the opportunity to talk. Spandan is an avid football fan which entails him spending every weekend awake till morning catching up to European football and consuming football analysis.
