Ahana Chatterjee

Programme Associate

Ahana is a Programme Associate in the Climate Resilience team. As a creative-practice researcher, she deploys systems thinking to address the intersection of climate change and development. At CEEW, she develops adaptation strategies for local and sub-national governments, informing them of physical and socio-economic climate risks using scientific evidence, and co-designing anticipatory solutions. Ahana uses artificial intelligence for geospatial analysis and strategic foresight tools for policy design, connecting the dots between climate risks, risk perception, and future policy.

Before joining the Council, she was awarded the National Best Thesis Award by the Institute of Town Planners India, for developing a framework for climate-resilient slum redevelopment. She is also an active member of the World’s Youth for Climate Justice - India Front and advocates for human rights of India’s most climate-vulnerable populations.

She holds an Executive Diploma in Public Policy Design and Implementation with AI, from the National University of Singapore, and graduated in Physical Planning as a double Gold Medalist from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.

Ahana finds inspiration in people, their epiphanies and their stories, which drives her towards research that can help improve quality of life at large. Being an artist and storyteller at heart, she finds peace in photography, painting, writing, decorating, cooking, music and travel, especially to places that are waiting to be discovered.
