Programme Associate
Arushi is a Programme Associate at CEEW, working at the intersection of power system planning and electricity market design. Her focus since 2021 has been a question she finds worth spending endless nights on: how does India keep its grid stable, affordable and secure while integrating renewables at speed?
She works with modelling tools like GridPath to run capacity expansion and resource adequacy simulations for states and the country, and spends equal time translating those findings into something planners and regulators can act on. Her work has spanned building the evidence base for India's 2030 power procurement pathways—making the case for why exceeding renewable targets saves billions while keeping the system reliable—integrated resource planning for Gujarat, procurement pathway design for Rajasthan, the role of energy storage in grid operations, and how India's corporates fit into evolving global clean energy frameworks. She regularly engages with state and national policymakers, regulators and system operators and increasingly, international audiences—on what reliable, low-cost grids with high renewable shares actually look like in practice.
She is an IEEE Richard E. Merwin Scholar (2017 fall). She holds an M.Tech in Power System Management from MNIT Jaipur and a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NIEC, GGSIPU.
