Arushi Relan

Research Analyst

Arushi’s research at The Council revolves around understanding evolving power sector markets and upcoming challenges for the growth of renewable energy in India’s power system. With an understanding of technical as well as managerial challenges in power systems, Arushi focuses on developing analytical and practical solutions for the power procurement strategy of the Indian states.

Prior to joining the Council, Arushi has worked as a project engineer with the Center for Energy Regulations team, IIT Kanpur, where she analysed the changes in policy and regulation requirements in the power system. She holds a Master’s degree with a specialisation in ‘Power System Management’ from MNIT Jaipur. During her Master’s, Arushi had worked on two major projects — she helped plan the deployment of EV Battery Swapping Stations in Jaipur and proposed a multi-level bidding approach for a peer-to-peer energy trading system, for a colony in Australia, using machine learning-based methods.

Arushi is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has volunteered at IEEE’s events, which focused on humanitarian activities. In 2017, Arushi also received IEEE’s Richard E. Merwin Scholarship for pursuing research for the betterment of society.
