Designation offered:
Communications Associate (Graphic Designer)
Reporting to:
Senior Communications Specialist (Digital)
Location:
New Delhi, India
Purpose:
We seek to hire a Graphic Designer who can translate research and ideas into compelling visual narratives across reports, campaigns, events, and digital platforms for CEEW. The ideal candidate should possess a strong design sensibility and a good grasp of brand consistency across diverse formats. The candidate should be detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
If you can turn dense research into visuals people actually stop to look at, and enjoy switching between a 100-page report and a 10-second Instagram reel, we would like to speak to you. If you can help us make sustainability visually unmissable, we would consider hiring you.
Key Responsibilities
- Design visual collateral for events, research studies, publications, IEC campaigns, and digital media, including covers, layouts, and infographics.
- Develop and oversee social media creative assets and data assets (static and animated) aligned with campaign and content calendars
- Develop and oversee event collateral design — banners, backdrops, invitations, signage, and on-site branding
- Apply and safeguard institutional brand guidelines consistently across all outputs and ensure high-quality outputs across all design collateral
- Collaborate with research and Outreach teams to convert content briefs into visual concepts. Work closely with editorial, digital, web and outreach colleagues to develop integrated communication campaigns.
- Own the design request pipeline end-to-end: brief intake, concept development, revisions, final delivery
- Be the custodian of the CEEW’d brand guidelines and design language, and tweak and evolve these over time, as required
- Build and maintain reusable templates (PowerPoint, social media, report layouts) for organisation-wide use
- Integrate AI as an enabler for creative exploration, concept generation and workflow efficiency, while maintaining high design standards
- Support digital storytelling formats — web banners, emailer templates, microsite visuals
Other responsibilities
- Assist with basic motion graphics/video edits for social media, where required
- Liaise with external vendors, design agencies, and printers to ensure production-quality output, as required
- Maintain and organise the design asset library and archives, including version control
- Contribute design perspective during campaign ideation and strategy sessions
- Orient colleagues on self-service use of templates (e.g., PPT, Canva) to reduce design bottlenecks
- Track design trends and update design templates
In addition to the duties and responsibilities above, the individual should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional tasks. The role could further evolve as CEEW’s communications priorities and strategy progress.
Selection criteria qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field
- 2–4 years of relevant professional experience; prior exposure to non-profits, think tanks, or research organisations preferred
- A portfolio demonstrating range across publication design, branding, campaigns, social media, data visualisation and, where possible, motion graphics. Experience in publication design is a must.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint design and template-building
- Demonstrated experience designing for data-heavy content (charts, infographics)
- Good project management skills
- Excellent eye for detail
- Strong time-management skills to handle multiple concurrent requests under deadline pressure
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
Desired skills
- Strong grasp of typography, layout, and colour theory
- Ability to simplify complex or technical content into accessible visuals
- Working knowledge of After Effects/Premiere Pro or similar motion tools
- Familiarity with collaborative design tools such as Figma or Canva
- Awareness of accessibility principles in design (colour contrast, alt text, etc.)
