Full time (extendable based on mutual agreement)

Purpose

To support the Editorial Lead on a range of communication activities including, but not limited to editorial research, fact-checking, media, collation of articles and news mapping.

CEEW invites applications from budding communication professionals who have prior experience in creative writing and media with a keen interest in news in the public policy sector.

The candidate should be solution-oriented, detail-oriented and committed to adhering to timelines. In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individual should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities.

Job duties and accountabilities

  • Line-editing and supporting editorial products
  • Thoroughly fact-checking and proof-reading articles
  • Supporting the Communications team in maintaining media databases, creating new databases
  • Researching media trends for the sustainability sector
  • Supporting the Communications team in developing concept notes and briefs, as well as proofreading and editing key documents
  • Identifying and creating new media contacts and opportunities

Selection criteria

Qualification

  • Master's/Bachelor's degree in English literature, journalism, and related disciplines

Work experience and other skills

  • 0-1 year experience in creative writing/copywriting, editing, secondary research and coordination

Key skills

  • Excellent communication skills — spoken and written English language skills
  • Attention to detail and a can-do attitude
  • An interest in news and Indian media is a must
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
  • Ability to adhere to (and manage multiple) timelines

Compensation
