Himanshu Anand

Programme Associate

Himanshu is a Programme Associate with the Power Market team at The Council. His research involves power system modeling, long-term electricity forecasting, power procurement planning, renewable energy integration, flexibility, regulatory policy aspects, and power market analysis. Additionally, he works on developing state-level policy databases for key technologies at the Council.

Himanshu holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the Gov. SBSCET, Punjab Technical University, a master’s in power systems from Thapar University, and a Ph.D. in Power System Optimization from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. He did his post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of IME, IIT Kanpur. As part of his research work, Himanshu worked on understanding the impact of RE integration on the power system and new developments in the power market.

Himanshu likes to indulge in conversations around climate change and has a keen interest in writing research and cricket.
