Sunil Kumar

Research Analyst

Sunil works as a Research Analyst with the Technology Futures team at The Council. His research interests include critical minerals, renewable energy technologies, and new materials.

Sunil holds an MTech degree in Fuel, Minerals, and Metallurgical Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad in addition to a BTech degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from MNIT Jaipur. In the course of his academic career, he interned with Hindustan Zinc Limited, where he worked on projects such as waste management and the recovery of valuable metals from metallurgical wastes. As an undergrad, he also interned at Steel Authority of India Limited, Rourkela, where he gained valuable insight into the operations and divisions of an integrated steel plant.

Beyond his professional endeavours, he pursues various interests. He finds joy in playing team sports such as volleyball and cricket, embracing the competitiveness they offer. On his time-off, he enjoys watching movies and anime series.
