Surya Vardhan is working in the council as research analysts with power market team. His work focuses on Power system optimization, challenges related to integrating high renewable energy mix, role of energy storage solutions for supplying reliable and cost effective power supply etc.

Surya Vardhan has recently submitted his doctoral dissertation on power system optimization from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. He did his masters in Integrated power systems from the same institution. As a part of the research work in PhD, he had the opportunity to work on academic consultancy projects related to Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning applications for different power sectors. His hobbies involve reading books on foreign policy, collecting Pokémon cards, Playing Badminton, Classical singing etc.

He differentiates spiritual world with material world. He is actively involved with "Art of Living" foundation and is regular with "Sudarshan Kriya". He strongly believes "Material achievements without Spiritual Element is a path to frustration” and as a practitioner he not only practices but also promotes meditation by putting up a good word and sharing experience among friends and colleagues.
