Debanjan Bagui

Research Analyst

Debanjan works as a Research Analyst within the Energy Transition team at The Council. His research interests include emerging renewable energy technologies, energy storage, grid integration of distributed energy sources, and their socio-economic impact. Additionally, he wants to understand the rooftop solar market, national and international policies related to the sector, and stakeholder engagements furthering energy transition.

Debanjan holds a master's degree in Energy Science & Technology from Jadavpur University and also master's and bachelor’s degree in Physics from Calcutta University. As part of his dissertation work, Debanjan conducted techno-economic evaluation and comparison of monocrystalline & polycrystalline solar modules across nine diverse climatic zones in India. Additionally, he developed a solar module efficiency prediction model and assisted research scholars and professors in various sustainable and renewable energy projects during his academics.

Beyond work, Debanjan enjoys painting, watching thriller & sci-fi movies/web series, and reading books. He is also a sports enthusiast and loves following cricket and tennis.
