Simran Sukhija is a Research Analyst with the Climate Negotiations Team at The Council. Her work focuses on conducting assessments for the Capacity Building Tool based on the modalities, procedures, and guidelines associated with the enhanced transparency framework and researching climate accountability, transparency, Article 6, climate finance and climate negotiations under the Paris Agreement.
Before joining The Council, Simran interned at IORA Ecological Solutions, where she worked on drafting a revised state action plan on climate change for Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. She also worked at the Indian School of Business, where she conducted vital data analysis, uncovering insights in economic and social domains.
Simran holds a Master’s degree in Environment and Resource Economics from TERI School of Advanced Studies. Her final-year Master's thesis involved analysing consumer's and developer’s perceptions of low-carbon buildings in Delhi-NCR. Simran completed her Bachelor’s in Economics from Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi.
In her free time, she passionately delves into pencil sketching, turning blank pages into captivating works of art and enjoys action-packed movies and web series. Her eyes gleam with joy at the sight of blooming flowers and picturesque skies.
