Uday is a Research Analyst in the Risks and Adaptation team at the Council. He works on projects aimed at improving the air quality in India, straddling between data analytics and public policymaking. During his internship at the Council, he worked on a project to assess Delhi’s emergency response to winter air pollution.
Uday has a Masters in Environmental Studies and Resource Management from the TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS). While at TERI SAS, he worked on developing a statistical model to quantify the risk of mortality due to air pollution and on quantifying the causal relationship between the air quality in Delhi and other major urban centres in the NCR. He has done his Bachelor’s in Physical Science from Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi.
Apart from contributing to cleaning India’s air, Uday spends his time studying world history and mythology with arthouse cinema and Hindustani classical music filling the gaps in between. He especially enjoys studying Hindu mythology with Bibek Debroy’s translations of the Mahabharata, the Ramayana and the Mahapuranas being his go-to references. Uday also enjoys listening to the Dhrupad style of Hindustani vocal music with the accompanying tranquillity serving as an energy booster for him.
