Tarun Mehta works as a Programme Associate with the Power Markets team at The Council. For the last three months, he has worked as a Research Intern at The Council and focused on retail electricity tariff rationalization, customer engagement for smart metering and the analysis of thermal based electricity generation. Additionally, he will also be working on fossil fuel subsidy reforms in India.
Tarun has a Masters in Economics with a specialization in environment and natural resources from the TERI School of Advanced Studies.He has also been trained in techniques of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Econometrics with a working knowledge of R and STATA.
When not working, Tarun likes to spend my time binge-watching Netflix, shuffling through new Spotify mixes or imagining that he is in the fictional world of his latest read. Anxious People by Fredrik Backman is one of his all-time favorites.
