Industrial Sustainability

The Industrial Sustainability team at The Council supports India’s transition to a net-zero economy. To meet this objective, we focus on the following areas of research — energy transition to natural gas and hydrogen, carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS), carbon pricing, circular economy and innovation. Our research endeavours to identify practical pathways to the transition, evaluate the techno-economics of solutions, generate evidence through pilots, understand macroeconomic impacts, develop prescriptive policy solutions and support stakeholders with implementation. We work with governments at the centre and state levels to develop policies and the industry to implement solutions.
