Suyashi works with the Outreach team at The Council and her focus is on storytelling primarily through digital media. She is trained as a journalist and creative writer. These days, she is exploring how to transform storytelling through various multimedia tools.
Suyashi constantly tries to expand the boundaries of her knowledge. Having completed her Bachelor’s in English Literature from Hansraj College, Suyashi went on to study a Postgraduate Diploma Course in Refugee Laws, International Humanitarian Laws and Human Rights Law at the Indian Society of International Law. After that, she studied New Media at the Asian College of Journalism.
Suyashi is a published fiction and poetry author. Her works have appeared in various journals like Hakara Journal, The Medley, Alipore Post, amongst others.In 2019, she went to the University of Iowa as part of the Summer Institute, a creative writing cum cultural exchange program between India, Pakistan and the United States.
As a news buff, she is passionate about rethinking news from a feminist perspective. She is also interested in writing about culture and has done extensive work on stories that do not feature in the mainstream.
In her free time, Suyashi is seen obsessing over a fictional character or imagining that she lives in Victorian England.
