Vanshika Shah

Research Analyst

Vanshika Shah is a Research Analyst in the Sustainable Food Systems Team at The Council. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Relations from Ashoka University, Sonipat, and a master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Leiden University, The Hague.

Her professional journey includes working at the Clingendael Institute in The Hague, where she contributed to two high-impact projects: fostering digital connectivity between the Asia-Pacific and Europe and advancing green energy initiatives in ASEAN. She also had the opportunity to co-author a policy brief with Dr. Maaike Okano-Heijmans, which was prominently featured by the European External Action Service (EEAS).

Additionally, Vanshika co-founded the Nepathya Foundation, a Delhi-based NGO dedicated to empowering low-income families through skill development, income generation, and financial literacy. The US Embassy in Nepal recently recognized her efforts with Nepathya, where she spearheads a civic engagement initiative focused on spreading awareness about the Right to Information and combating misinformation and disinformation.

An avid writer, Vanshika has contributed articles to renowned platforms such as Scroll, The Wire, Deccan Herald, ECS Nepal, and The Himalayan Times. In her leisure time, she enjoys playing squash and is currently rediscovering her passion for the sport, striving to stay consistent with practice sessions.
