Nandini Agarwal

Nandini is a Research Analyst for the Sustainable Food Systems team at the Council. Her interest in food systems flourished during her year-long stint in Auroville in 2015, where she explored farming and Permaculture Design for the first time. Her work and interactions with the field triggered deeper questions on current practices of agri-supply, food processing and consumption patterns. Her goal is to continue learning about and impacting systems level transitions for sustainable food. Prior to CEEW, she worked with Edible Routes, a social enterprise focussed on urban farming and awareness generation about local & natural foods.
She has completed her Bachelors in Political Science from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi and Masters in Environmental Policy from the Paris School of International Affairs, Sciences Po. During her Masters, she interned with adelphi Research, Berlin. Apart from this, her experiences include internships at Human Rights Law Network, where her research contributed to a Public Interest Litigation for a ban on highly hazardous pesticides in India, and Development Alternatives, where she contributed to the development of a carbon calculator.
In addition to researching food, she takes particular interest in baking. Her strive for holistic wellbeing and a balanced life has motivated her to become an Ashtanga Yoga practitioner and teacher. At present, she is also a part of the Global Youth Climate Network, a cohort of 150 young sustainability professionals from 60+ countries who initiate and lead climate related projects in their regions.
